Bridle Hide luxury backgammon is one of the most luxury backgammon sets. It uses a time-honoured and proven traditional vegetable tanned hide. Used for centuries for saddles and horse bridles, hence the name. Often up to 5mm thick, it requires one of the most experienced craftsmen to work the leather into an exceptional piece.
With the Bridle Hide luxury backgammon set, Geoffrey Parker uses this beautiful leather exclusively for the outer cases. This choice is due to the white tallow beneath the color, which often rises to the surface during the working and nurturing of the leather. Although the tallow can be brushed away once the process is complete, it slows down backgammon play. For this reason, the Bridle Hide is paired with specially tanned Dauphin calf, creating a striking contrast when the luxury backgammon case is opened and ensuring a smooth and speedy game.
