Widecombe fair is famous not just in Devon, but across the world. It all started more than 150 years ago with a cattle show, a Whiteface Dartmoor sheep sale and an old folk song telling the story of Uncle Tom Cobly and all. The Fair is held annually on the 2nd Tuesday in September and is traditionally a very special occasion for Whiteface Dartmoor sheep known locally as Widecombes. To celebrate this fair we have produced a special Widecombe gift pack of twooly scrumptious moorland colours.
Perfect for traditional garden use, floristry, crafts and gift wrapping and for you to get creative with!
Made from Dartmoor wool and entirely manufactured in the UK, twool continues doing good after it’s working life by releasing nitrogen as it biodegrades on the compost heap.
Twool twine is strong and because it withstands our British weather, makes it excellent for traditional garden use. Made from underused rare-breed wool, it is soft and kind to plants and is also wonderfully versatile.
British wool is still an underused resource in the UK. We grow it well, it is renewable, strong and durable and, as a natural product, it releases nitrogen as it biodegrades. What’s not to love about that!
- Size: 3 x 35m
- Made in: England.
- We went to great lengths to double check every supplier of twine in Britain and this is the only brand that we could find that is made completely in Great Britain.
